Active Health Classes

Cancer Rehab is a programme supporting people affected by cancer in the Highlands to be physically active. This class for all abilities and is based on building up muscular strength to support the activities of everyday life, improving balance and coordination.

The Parkinson’s Exercise programme has been created specifically for people with Parkinson’s. Classes consist of functional exercises, some of which are chair-based, and some will use a range of simple equipment. This is an interactive session which enables you to take part from the comfort of your own home, with the added benefits of an instructor delivering a workout that can be adapted to suit your level and exercise goals

Dynamic Wellbeing classes are suitable for people with a range of health conditions including, but not limited to, people affected by cancer, chronic pain, type 2 diabetes, respiratory illness and neurological conditions. Level 2 is suitable for participants who: Have minimal or no difficulties with activities of daily living; Have good balance but may need additional support (a chair or wall) when completing specific balance exercises; Are independently mobile.

High Life Highland’s virtual Cardiac Rehabilitation classes are delivered to you by a live instructor via the Zoom platform. Strength & Balance is an exercise class aimed at older adults to prevent falls, injuries and improve cognition. Keeping active and moving every day are vital to gently strengthen muscles and reduce your fall risk. If you have had a fall or are at risk of falls, Strength & Balance classes can help you build your strength, balance and confidence.
